Different names of Goddess Lakshmi


Vedic Synergy focuses on Ayurvedic Wellness and Spiritual healing and during our Advanced course we do expose our clients to concepts, and mantras from the Vedic texts like the Bhagavad Gita.

During one of these sessions, one of my clients wanted to know the varied names of the Goddess of Wealth. In keeping with this request, I have shown below some of the more common names used for Goddess Lakshmi and the meaning of these names.

Lakshmi is respectfully also known as:

  • Prakruti – Nature

  • Vidya – Wisdom

  • Shraddha – Devoted

  • Surabhi – Celestial Being

  • Padma – Lotus

  • Shuchi – Embodiment of purity

  • Vibha – Radiant

  • Aditi – Radiant like the Sun

  • Kamala – Lotus

  • Karuna – Compassionate

  • Padmapriya – Lover of Lotus

  • Devi – Goddess

  • Padmini – Lotus

  • Satya – Totality of Truth

  • Vimala – Pure

  • Vasundhara – Daughter of the Earth

  • Jaya – Goddess of Victory

  • Vishnupatni – Consort of Vishnu

  • Mahakali – a form of Kali

  • Navadurga – all nine forms of Durga

  • Brahma-Vishnu-Shivatmika – Trinity of Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva

  • Vishnupriya – Beloved of Lord Vishnu
